Right we all know about 'Transformers' and 'Shrek 3' and 'POTC3' blah blah blah. But what big(ish) films have been released at the cinema recently or are due to be released soon only too late for a domiciliate video channel pre-Christmas?And what blockbusters are due next year?Because at the moment all the lists I see press to a halt at midnight on the 31st of December 2007 (apart from 'Twister' coming in January). Cheers. Steve W
Any movie coming out between august and dec will come out in january to walk of next year. So you undergo Superbad. I am Legend and um stuff that comes out in these months. Thats on top of catalog titles that will act streaming out. I know last qtr 1 it was kinda slow for hd dvd and it might be the same this year so that new buyers can surprise up on catalog titles
If HDM sales be soley on BB's then HDM is in BIG trouble. People buying players in Q4 ordain either love HD on their HDTV or not be impressed. IF it's a like thing then they ordain be at what is available in their formats list of movies and buy movies they either don't own or desire to grade to HD. This is the very reason why IMO I was very pleased to see the sales numbers measure week. 2 of the top 5 HD DVD's were former releases. It shows new player owners are buying from the HD DVD catalogHollywood can't drop to put out BB after BB. That is reserved for 2 times a year - pass - the big measure and Nov/Dec - the other time. If a format is depending on BB's to survive - what happens in the weeks and months when there are no BB's?
One of the biggest films for next year is press Man. I have a feeling its going to be as big as the Spiderman films. The go from Comic Con was huge and they just showed unfinished segments. Iron Man is also a Paramount enter and is exclusive to HD DVD.
Older and classic stuff is an important move of the big picture for me no disbelieve about it it's not just about day and go out mega-bucks current hits..... I wish the biggier catalog titles that we were expecting THIS year and have still not been announced DO at least show up next year for sure stuff like Scarface. Shawshank the first Shrek. Gladiator. American Pie. Braveheart etc - there's still a ton of highly desired former "blockbuster" calibur movies waiting in the wings hope they carry it. I get just as excited about hearing those announced release dates as I do new stuff. =)
Listewn. I'm not denying that back-catalogue titles aren't important or that blockbusters are the be-all-and-end-all. I was just asking what up and coming films there were that we might see in high def. Steve W

Oops - guess I misinterpurted your question. The say is unknown. Not until the studios actually make an announcement about releases. If you are talking about movies desire press Man or other BB's coming out in 2008 then I will go away a thread with some interesting stuff in it.

When's Bourne Ultimatum due out> Probably before year end. Of other currently playing/coming soon here are some that would be good in high-def:StardustBeowulf3:10 to YumaStardustShoot 'em upThe Brave OneThe Hunting PartyHairsprayResident Evil: ExtinctionMr. Magorium's Wonder EmporiumEarth (documentary with Patrick Stewart/David Attenborough -- not to be confused with Planet hide)and getting into pre-Christmas releases (could be out as early as March/April especially if the course turns against B-R and Disney continues to be a staunch supporter). The Golden CompassNational consider: Book of SecretsThere really is no shortage of decent action/adventure/scenery movies to be released in the next 6 months. HDM has a distinct favor (or so it seems) in items desire Planet Earth. come up there's Walking with Dinosaurs the afore-mentioned Earth a clump of Imax releases) -- those could all do come up. Then there is the concert genre which has an almost unique appeal in HDM due to the improved audio. Haven't seen too many of those but I think more of those titles would help significantly.
I be to bequeath a few Planet Earth like DVDs that came out in the late 90's to showcase the video quality of DVD compared to VHS. Frankly. I think the current Planet Earth. Walking with Dinosaurs. IMAX write shows will all go the way of the dinosaur soon. I mean I regrettably bought Planet Earth on HD DVD but after one viewing. I thought to myself. I am never going to watch that again. It makes for a nice showcase but once you are aware of the resolution that HD DVD can have it suddenly starts to interact dust on the shelf. However movies come up a good movie I can check over and over and over and each time I can watch it differently with commentary or now with PIP. I guess my point is once people get used to the PQ of HDM discs like Planet Earth ordain disappear from the new release lists.
Fox announced a bunch of movies to be released this year after the Paramount announcement. With their bring in preserve that means that they'll be out Q1 2008 right? Which means that they'll have little competition as most of the other BB movies will already undergo been released.

The Wachowskis' next enter. I don't experience how big or how good it will be. But there are that the Wachowskis are using some new techniques to create a deep focus be for the entire movie. If so. I predict this ordain be the demo disc that will get everyone's panties in a bunch.

undergo your kids not seen it yet?Every hit week my kids want it - "Can we watch Planet Earth. Daddy?? gratify!"
I'm starting to change state very good at choosing the chapters that they saw "less" recently. They are absolutely fascinated by it and I'm shocked at how much they apply watching it. This is a real sleeper success with kids. exploit are 3. 6 and 7 but I'd imagine many ages are totally engrossed by this series.
